Agriculture : Work on Open Water

Some work activities can take place on open waters, i.e. rivers, lakes, etc, offer significant risks to both staff and guests.

There are many areas that will need to be considered as part of the initial risk assessment; we have broken these down into three areas:

  • ENVIRONMENT
  • INDIVIDUAL
  • ACTIVITY

These areas all have varying elements that will have some effect on the level of, or severity of the risk.It is also important to stress that efforts must be made to warn guests, staff and trespassers of the risks contained within open water.  This should be done through pictorial signs/images and be clearly visible and maintained.

Please Note: this represents only a brief summary of the topic selected. To access our full guidance on the subject, along with a wide selection of Risk Management support...
